HR Specialist
Job Title: HR Specialist
Location: Garden Grove, CA
Duration: Contract for 5 Months
The Human Resources Specialist ensures the effective and consistent delivery of human resources services including: employee relations, recruitment/on-boarding, performance management, training and development, HRIS administration, and general administrative tasks. This position requires the ability to work closely with all levels of management and employees while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
o Serve as regional Human Resources Specialist. Liaison for HR between local regions and Corporate Human Resources
o Develop effective partnership with the regional management team and strong relationships with employees at all levels. Serves as front-line first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and requests and provide excellent customer service to employees on a day to day basis
o Responsible for handling employee relations issues including good faith investigations, performance counseling and termination processing in accordance with company policies and all state and federal laws.
o Coordinate and support the execution of effective recruiting strategies for the region. Aggressively seek talent for current, open and future requisition positions, as well as create a pipeline of candidates for future known and unknown potential position openings. Coordinate with management to develop job descriptions and schedule interviews
o Coordinate the college recruiting program with regional support
o Perform all on boarding and off boarding activities; generating offer letters, processing background checks, and facilitates coordination with payroll/benefits. Conduct new hire orientation. Conduct exit interviews
o Support annual performance appraisal process by counseling managers and tracking completion of reviews
o Responsible for HRIS systems implementation and maintenance
o Process change of status requests and provide general administrative support
o Oversee the Talent Management process for the region
o Assist with Training and development of regional employees including the compliance, team development and MBTI
o Participate in the development and implementation of Corporate Human Resources Programs. Function in tandem with all HR staff to maximize effectiveness and minimize redundancies in company-wide HR processes
Job Requirements:
o Strong knowledge of HRIS, employment law, recruitment, employee and labor relations, and training and development. General knowledge of compensation and benefits
o Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work successfully across organization lines and at all levels. Excellent customer service skills
o Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
o Proven ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues in a professional manner.
o Strong organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and manage changing priorities; ability to work independently.
o Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Education/
Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, business management or a related field of study preferred
o 2-5 plus years of progressive experience in Human Resources. Construction, Engineering or similar industry experience preferred
o PHR or SPHR preferred
